Course Content
Welcome to a comprehensive course, a module in the Diploma in Holistic Counselling program, designed to support counsellors and support workers to navigate crisis situations when working with clients. This is a 29 lesson program outlining mental health professionals roles and responsibilities in keeping clients safe identifying imminent crisis situations, knowing the safety signs, intervening safely based on capacity, shoring up safety plans and support and empowering the client to make informed choices. This program also addresses strategies to ensure the safety of the counsellor or support worker to avoid vicarious trauma and burn out.
