CHCCSL002: Apply specialist interpersonal and counselling interview skills
Throughout this program you will learn more ways to communicate effectively including identifying barriers to communication and strategies to overcome these. You will learn micro-skills of reading faces and bodies that can be combined with your effective communication techniques. Furthermore this module includes specialised counselling interviewing skills such as challenging, reframing and focussing and much more.
Where to Start
Please ensure you have completed the ‘Emerging Counsellor Part I and II’ classes of the holistic counsellor training program and have enrolled in ‘The Authentic Communicator’ program.
Reflective Practise
Throughout this module it is asked of you that you contemplate your own communication style, strengths and weaknesses and what you default to. Add your insights into your journal with plans on how to change this, maybe through developing tiny habits or bring to the Authentic Communicator project.
Peer Group Case Supervision
Ensuring you have continued support as a counsellor out in the community. Every month we meet as counsellors, graduates and those who want to learn more and go over case studies that we have. This is a very valuable process as ensuring you have support and guidance is part of best practise and essential for professional development hours.
